Our Elmira-based agency is looking for an experienced marketing/communications professional, with agency and/or non-profit or ministry work experience, as well as proven leadership skills, to join our collaborative team. Reporting to the President, the Senior Marketing Manager will provide key support in the areas of client account management, implementation, corporate marketing, and leadership.

Designed to provide flexibility for the right employee, this role is a minimum of 30 hours per week with the potential for full-time hours depending on qualifications and is expected to be a hybrid of remote and onsite work (ideally, reside within commuting distance of Elmira, ON). Competitive salary commensurate with experience.

Position Summary

The Senior Marketing Manager provides oversight and support to the smooth delivery of client projects and provides direct account management support to major client projects. Leads corporate marketing initiatives and provides support to the President in the development of the business.

Key accountabilities

  • Co-leads the development and implementation of major client-facing brand and marketing strategies and plans. This would include:
    • Contributing to the development of brand playbooks, marketing strategies and work plans based on existing templates.
    • Contributes  to the development of PR, communications and marketing strategies and activities.
  • Ensures effective Account Management:
    • Implementing and enhancing the client onboarding process.
    • Supporting action plan implementation and ensuring clients needs are met. 
    • Managing major client meetings and project reporting. 
    • Ensures client projects are managed well including on budget and on time. 
    • Directly manages or supports the President’s management of major or long-standing clients. 
  • Effectively coaches, mentors, supports, and develops direct reports through the following activities:
    • Regular one-on-one updates to measure progress against stated objectives; provides constructive guidance, encouragement, and feedback, and removes obstacles.
    • Models open communication – regularly provides updates to the team.
    • Ensures performance appraisals and development plans for individual contributors are developed, recorded, and regularly discussed with direct reports.
  • Plans, develops, implements and participates in formulating and administering of organizational management processes and operations: 
    • Supports the implementation and development of the Agency’s business plan.
    • Provides guidance and support to business development. 
    • Manages the implementation and enhancement of project management practices for agency operations or client projects. 
    • Ensures the organization has and is using all tools and applications to enable effective work among team members.
    • Consults with team leaders and reviews activity, operating and other reports to recommend to the President changes to resources requirements, services or operations.

Required qualifications:   

Experience

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in marketing, fundraising, or community engagement.  *non-profit and/or ministry experience is required
  • Proven experience in business and department operations management. 
  • Experience in working with or inside creative agencies or freelance service providers is ideal. 

Education

  • Bachelor degree or diploma in communications, or public engagement or marketing or equivalent experience required.
