Who We Are

President & Chief Strategist, Ellen Graf-Martin started her marketing career in 2000, hosting global mission leaders for the launch of the internationally-acclaimed, Operation World. Since then, she’s enjoyed the privilege of launching countless brands, films, books, and working with several national and international non-profit organizations. Ellen’s deep commitment to using the marketing tools in her hands to come alongside organizations working for good, is clear in the work that she and the team does. With a variety of cross-cultural living experiences, and a west-coast upbringing, Ellen now survives winters and enjoys summers in Ontario with her husband and daughter, and their feisty Bengal cat.

Petra serves as the team’s Director of Marketing. She has 15+ years of experience in the not-for-profit sector, with a deep passion for helping organizations uncover, and unleash, their purpose and potential. She has a unique blend of skills in marketing, communications, and government relations and has served in each capacity at some point in her career. She holds a Master of Arts in Communications from The Johns Hopkins University, along with a Master of Arts in Political Science and an undergraduate degree from Western University. Petra, her husband, and their two children can often be found swimming or exploring the nearest conservation area.

With over 15 years of experience in the digital and influencer marketing world, Shannon is an asset as our PR and Community Manager... she also happens to be one of Canada’s original top bloggers and influencers. Shannon has a knack for developing relationships, which in the PR & Publicity world, makes her feel right at home. She's a natural at networking, and growing online communities, and loves to help others amplify their message. She and her husband have just retired from pastoring the church he planted in Kitchener, Ontario in 1993. In their spare time, they love to hang out with their 4 kids, daughter-in-law, and grandson.

Dan is our Marketing Manager. He combines a heart for social justice with a strong background in communications, advocacy, and marketing. Prior to his experience at Graf-Martin, he spent 10 years with World Vision Canada, helping lead advocacy campaigns focused on child protection and child health, leading a marketing communications team, and supporting a stewardship team. Dan thrives in collaborative settings and excels at knitting together marketing strategies that are complemented with engaging content and events. Dan, his wife, and two young children can often be found hiking trails in and around Guelph.

Veronica's incredible work ethic, eye for detail, and organizational talent have blessed every employee and client at GMC. As our Marketing Specialist, she supports our client marketing processes at a high level with a dedicated eye for detail. She is a graduate from Wilfrid Laurier University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Honours Communication Studies. Veronica comes from a church leadership background where she helped lead and develop community programs for children and youth. Veronica and her husband enjoy discovering coffee shops in KW and going on walks with their boisterous hound, Poto.

Lauren recently graduated from Cambrian College's Media Communications program, where she maintained a 4.0 GPA. She has specialized in marketing, writing, and content creation during her studies. Working with both the marketing and recruitment teams at her college before joining the Graf-Martin team as Publicity Assistant, Lauren developed customer service skills and learned how to engage with prospective clients, all with rave reviews from her educators. Lauren enjoys hitting the driving range with her boyfriend, going on too many walks, and binge-watching new television shows in her free time. She is looking forward to exploring the area to find the best iced coffee after recently moving to Kitchener.

As an award-winning designer with 14 years experience in the industry, Natalie has worked alongside amazing organizations to help tell impactful stories through their brand messaging and visuals. Natalie is committed to innovative solutions that support the end goals of each unique project, uncovering what makes our clients shine. She was also proud to lead the design for GMC on a Canada 150 book project which was awarded first place at the New York Book Show. Natalie lives north of Toronto with her husband and two sweet boys, working as a remote, but invaluable, team member.

Kiersten is an experienced administrator with a passion for marketing and managing the details. As our Executive Assistant, she brings 10+ years of office administration expertise and has worked in several different industries from tech to wellness. Beyond the office, she is a wife and proud mother of three, explorer, carer of plants, and life documenter.

Aleksandra's 8+ years of experience in the field of Search Engine Optimization is paired with business degrees in Digital Marketing and International Entrepreneurship. Focused, deeply dedicated, and always learning to stay up-to-date, she has proven to be an invaluable asset to our team. Aleks takes on the role of Digital Marketing Specialist. She is a passionate polyglot, writer, gardener and amateur chef, and has been since childhood -- a focus on long-term goals, strategic spontaneity and determination has led to the creative, dynamic personality she brings to the table today.

As Chief Financial Officer, Jennifer Alexander has years of cross-industry experience as a financial and operations executive. She has built a collaborative and nurturing approach to supporting small and medium-sized businesses in reaching their goals. Her extensive entrepreneurial, startup, corporate finance, and mergers and acquisitions experience is a benefit to our business. Jennifer has quickly fit in and effectively oversees the operations, allowing the creative team to focus on what Graf-Martin does best by focusing on the clients’ needs. Jennifer and her husband Mike live in Mississauga with their three very active kids, and their pandemic dog Bowa. When she’s not taking her kids to their sports activities she enjoys reading cookbooks and cooking.

We're excited to have Heather come alongside us as a Marketing and Communications Strategy Consultant. Heather holds a MA in Communications and New Media from McMaster University and 10+ years of experience in brand and marketing leadership. She's in her sweet spot working with teams like Graf-Martin, where she can marry her greatest passion - helping others (especially vulnerable populations) - with her professional skill set - bringing brands to life with strategic storytelling. In her spare time, Heather loves to run, get outside and enjoy all of the natural wonders the world has to offer, read, and spend quality time connecting with those she loves most.

Madison graduated from the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (Ontario Tech University) with a Bachelor of Arts in Digital Media and Communications. With a heart for helping others and a love for digital media and marketing, having had previously worked in Communications at The 700 Club Canada, Madison is passionate about working for companies where she can make a difference. Madison is the perfect fit as Marketing Coordinator at Graf-Martin! In her free time, Madison can be found reading a good book, playing board games with her husband, or doting on her dog Salinger (yes, he is named after her favourite author!) After recently moving to Guelph, she is eager to find all the best hiking trails and indulge in all the great local restaurants the region has to offer.
